After 30 Years, Jim Hommer Purchases the Company He Quit

Arlington Heights, IL, May 28, 2008: Custom tooling manufacturer Hommer Tool & Manufacturing, Inc., has purchased the ongoing business of Neuwer Tool, a manufacturer of precision round tooling for plastic injection molds located in Wheeling, Illinois.  All pending and new orders will now be processed at Hommer Tool’s 24,000 ft² manufacturing facility in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

The acquisition brings Jim Hommer, President of Hommer Tool, full circle, as 30 years ago he was an employee of Neuwer Tool who left to start his own, and competing, manufacturing company.  According to J.R. Hommer, Vice President, “We welcome the opportunity to serve Neuwer’s customers. We look forward to exploring our roots and to reestablishing some of our past competitive advantages.”  The capital assets of Neuwer will be sold at auction by Joe Wersching, former owner of Neuwer Tool and Jim Hommer’s previous boss. 

Hommer Tool & Manufacturing, Inc., manufactures custom components for plastic injection molders.
